Wednesday's Emma Myers Reveals What She Wants to See Happen in Season 2

In an interview with 1883 Magazine, Myers spoke in-depth about her breakout role as Wednesday Addams' Nevermore Academy werewolf roommate and returning for the hit Netflix drama's second season. Though she remains in the dark about Wednesday's story plans, the actor expressed a desire to see Enid "be more confident in herself" going forward. "She's finally grown into her wolf abilities, and I would like to see her use that instead of being scared and upset by it. I would love to see her be an instigator in things instead of just being dragged along with it," Myers added.

On how she acquired the Wednesday part, Myers pointed to her interest in working opposite director Tim Burton in his first-ever TV project. "I wasn't turning down any audition at that point, especially a Tim Burton audition, you just don't pass that up," Myers acknowledged, stating, "So, it wasn't really me debating whether or not I should audition or something specific drawing me to it. It's Tim Burton.. It's The Addams Family! So you are kind of desperate to be a part of it." The audition itself, she continued, lasted four months, describing it as, "You'd audition, and then it would be silent, then you'd audition again, and it would be silent again. You'd go in for a callback, and then more silence. It was a lot of waiting and a lot of hoping. It was a long four-month process, but it was totally worth it."

Wednesday Season 2 Will Increase the Horror

Alongside Wednesday, Myers recently starred opposite Jennifer Garner and Ed Helms in Netflix's body-swapping comedy Family Switch. She will also star alongside Jason Momoa, Danielle Brooks, and Sebastian Eugene Hansen in Warner Bros.' live-action Minecraft adaptation, which will be released sometime in 2025. For Wednesday season 2, an official cast beyond Myers and Jenna Ortega as the titular lead hasn't been confirmed yet. However, Ortega -- who will serve as a producer on season 2 -- revealed earlier this year that the new season will focus less on season 1's love triangle elements and more on "the horror aspect of the show."

Despite initial mixed-to-positive reviews, Wednesday has since become Netflix's most-viewed English-language show to date, eclipsing the previous record set by Stranger Things. Production on season 2 is expected to begin next April, though Netflix recently expressed interest in expanding its lineup of Addams Family programs. One show, per a new report, will focus on Addams member Uncle Fester, played by Fred Armisen in Wednesday's seventh episode "If You Don't Woe Me by Now."

Wednesday season 1 is available to stream on Netflix.
