Kung Fu Hustle 2 is finally official and there are already a ton of exciting updates about the long-awaited sequel. The original Kung Fu Hustle became an instant cult favorite in 2004, and many have been anxiously awaiting a follow-up. Stephen Chow is a legendary figure in Chinese cinema and started his career as an actor. He first moved into the directing seat for 1993's Flirting Scholar, and started to regularly direct his own projects like 1996's The God Of Cookery.

After Shaolin Soccer, Chow followed up with Kung Fu Hustle, another martial arts and action-infused comedy. Chow confirmed that the sequel was in development, as reported by M.A.A.C., during an interview promoting his movie The New King of Comedy. However, Chow initially planned on making the film in 2005, but it's safe to say his schedule got in the way. Stephen Chow stated in 2005 he was working on Kung Fu Hustle 2, but its path to getting made has proven complicated.

Originally, Chow revealed his hope to produce Kung Fu Hustle 2 back in 2005. Unfortunately, the project was continuously stalled by Chow's busy schedule.
