Charlie Cox's Daredevil might have been confirmed to appear in Avengers: Doomsday, thanks to a workout picture. Since Cox debuted as Daredevil in 2015, the actor has become a fan favorite. Despite Daredevil being canceled back in 2018, the actor and the character were so popular that he reprised his role in Spider-Man: No Way Home, which kicked off a series of appearances that will culminate in Daredevil: Born Again. Daredevil's story in the Marvel Cinematic Universe will get even bigger as he might join The Avengers' ranks.
The DFRNT Health & Fitness shared an image (see below) of Charlie Cox and his wife Sam on Instagram at the Australian gym. The caption reads "Charlie is currently training for his role in the upcoming @marvel Avengers movie where he will play @daredevil." This post seemingly confirms that Cox will reprise his role as Matt Murdock/Daredevil in Avengers: Doomsday and/or Avengers: Secret Wars. Marvel Studios and Disney have not made an official announcement regarding Cox's involvement in an upcoming Avengers film.
Daredevil's Potential Role in 'The Avengers' Sequels
While it is entirely possible that Cox is getting in shape for Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, which is confirmed to be in development, it would not be shocking to see him appear in Avengers: Doomsday. Many fans were hoping to see Daredevil and the rest of the Defenders appear in Avengers: Endgame, walking out of one of the portals to fight Thanos, but the divide between Marvel Studios and Marvel Television seemingly prevented that from happening. Now the studio can put Daredevil alongside Earth's Mightiest Heroes in a team-up that fans have seemingly been waiting for.
The question then becomes what role does Daredevil serve in the Avengers. The character is typically associated with street-level crime, so what does he bring to the protectors of earth? What he might lack in traditional superpowers, Daredevil could essentially bring to this new roster of Avengers what Hawkeye did to the original team. This everyman keeps the team grounded. Since Avengers: Endgame, the team as an organization doesn't exist in the MCU, a plot point brought up in Spider-Man: Far From Home and will factor into Captain America: Brave New World. The exact team of who or what The Avengers are might not be defined, but Daredevil makes for a worthy addition.
