Former 'Harry Potter' Star Reveals He Knows Some TV Show Casting and Shares a Confident Opinion on It

Some fans have finally warmed up to the idea of a Harry Potter TV show and are, in fact, eagerly looking forward to returning to the wizarding world with a brand-new perspective. With the reboot shaping up, there seems to be considerable potential for success. Adding to the excitement, a former Harry Potter star has stepped forward and revealed that he knows some of the TV show's casting and is confident about their skills.

Jason Isaacs, who portrayed the iconic character of Lucius Malfoy in the Harry Potter movies, and Patrick Schwarzenegger, who had a recurring role as Golden Boy in Gen V Season 1, recently sat down for an interview with ScreenRant about The White Lotus Season 3. Isaacs discussed the Harry Potter TV show reboot, teasing that he already knows who has been cast in the upcoming series and expressed his full support for the choices made by the showrunner, Mark Mylod.

“Oh, I know who they're casting. They're incredible actors,” Isaacs said, to which Schwarzenegger responded with, “You do?”

“Some of them, yeah. And they're incredible actors. And it's being done by the same people who did the films and Mark Mylod's running it, who is a brilliant showrunner. I worked with him years ago on Entourage, but he ran, he did lots of Game of Thrones. We did Succession as well. It's a phenomenally talented man, and they don't need any advice from me.”

Will The New Cast Level Up To The Golden Trio?

The Harry Potter franchise has become synonymous with so many iconic elements, from casting Expelliarmus to braving the journey to the Chamber of Secrets. But the biggest draw was undoubtedly the Golden Trio – Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter, Rupert Grint as Ron Weasley, and Emma Watson as Hermione Granger. They went from being wide-eyed first-years to seasoned young adults ready to selflessly face the ultimate evil. These three actors not only anchored eight movies with their exceptional performances but also demonstrated the ability to handle the massive fame that came with leading one of the biggest and most successful movie franchises of all time.
