Christopher Nolan’s latest $250 million budgeted film already has a cast stacked higher than Mount Olympus, but it looks like that won’t stop it from stacking even higher.
In the latest development, it turns out that Mia Goth is in talks to star in The Odyssey. This news comes from insider DanielRPK who was the first to report on Elliot Page joining the cast. It would be Goth’s first time working for Christoper Nolan.
Mia Goth is best known for her roles in X, Pearl, Susprisia, and MaXXXiine. For the most part, she’s starred in horror and psychological thriller films. This will be her first shot at a major blockbuster if the deal does end up going through. She is also set to appear in Marvel Studios’ Blade, but it’s unclear if that’s going into production anytime soon.
As with the rest of the cast, it’s impossible to know who Christopher Nolan is eyeing her for but it’ll likely be revealed some time in the near future. Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey is based on Homer’s epic of the same name and is described as a mythic action epic. The last few days have yielded a lot of casting news for the film so it is ramping up very quickly.
Mia Goth is a sizable star for Nolan to be adding, especially this late into the game but considering Oppenheimer’s star-studded cast, it’s hard to be surprised. If Nolan is able to add even more big names, it could very well be his most loaded cast ever.
The Odyssey will be tied with The Dark Knight Rises as Nolan’s highest budget. The film will start production in late February and will likely have a long filming schedule. It’s set to film in Morocco, the UK, and Italy.
It’s been reported that the movie will film in Favignana, which is on the west coast of Sicily and will be where the Italy portion will be filmed. That part of production is set to start in around two months.
