'American Dad' Leaving TBS, Eyes Return to Fox for 20th Season

The animated series American Dad! has been airing on TBS for the past decade, but now it is eyeing a potential return to its original network.

Deadline reports that Fox is in talks to bring the show home for season 20 and beyond.

The show premiered on Fox in February 2005 and then moved to TBS in 2014. After more than 10 years, the show is finalizing a return to Fox and the pickup “is expected to be for multiple seasons.”

Seth MacFarlane co-created the animated series and this is his second show to leave Fox and possibly return after Family Guy had the same trajectory.

American Dad is about a “super patriotic CIA agent Stan Smith and the misadventures of his unconventional family in Langley Falls, Va.” Nearly 400 episodes have aired already!
