Oscar Isaac and Tony Gilroy are working on a new movie together called Behemoth.
Isaac previously played Poe Dameron in the Star Wars franchise, with the character having appeared in 2015’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens, 2017’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and 2019’s Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
Gilroy worked on 2016’s Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and created the Disney+ series Andor.
Per Jeff Sneider’s The InSneider, Gilroy is now “shopping a new script” that is titled Behemoth, which Isaac is attached to star in.
What do we know about the Behemoth movie with Oscar Isaac?
Plot details remain under wraps at this time apart from it being “a drama about a cellist.” It’s unclear which studios the project is being shopped to, though Sneider reports that there are “multiple parties interested in the package.”
In addition to Star Wars, Isaac has starred in movies such as 2010’s Robin Hood, 2011’s Drive, 2013’s Inside Llewyn Davis, 2014’s A Most Violent Year, 2016’s X-Men: Apocalypse, 2018’s Annihilation, 2021’s Dune, and more. He voices Miguel O’Hara in Sony’s Spider-Verse franchise, while he’s now attached to voice Jesus Christ in Angel Studios’ The King of Kings, which releases this coming April.
Isaac will additionally soon be seen playing Dr. Victor Frankenstein in Guillermo del Toro’s new Netflix movie, which co-stars Jacob Elordi as Frankenstein’s monster. He’s further attached to star in Julian Schabel’s In the Hand of Dante, which does not yet have a release date.
Gilroy, meanwhile, has worked on the scripts for 1995’s Dolores Claiborne, 1997’s The Devil’s Advocate, 2002’s The Bourne Identity, 2004’s The Bourne Supremacy, 2007s The Bourne Ultimatum, 2007’s Michael Clayton, 2012’s The Bourne Legacy, and more. He was also a producer on 2014’s Nightcrawler starring Jake Gyllenhaal.
A release date for Behemoth has not yet been announced.
