The Conjuring: Last Rites is officially confirmed as the final film in the mainline franchise. The film follows the Warrens (Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga) as they take on “one last terrifying true story case.”
During CinemaCon 2025, New Line Cinema President Richard Brenner called the movie the best in the franchise.

Directed by Michael Chaves, with a screenplay written by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick, Ian Goldberg, and Richard Naing. The film is a sequel to The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It (2021) and the ninth installment in The Conjuring Universe.
The synopsis for The Conjuring: Last Rites follows, “Paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren take on one last terrifying case involving mysterious entities they must confront.”
The film also stars Ben Hardy as Tony Spera and Mia Tomlinson as Judy Warren.
Produced by James Wan and Peter Safran, with production companies including New Line Cinema, The Safran Company, and Atomic Monster.
The Conjuring: Last Rites hits theaters on September 5, 2025, by Warner Bros. Pictures.
